Detection and Prevention of Asphyxia

Minimum of six (6) and up to a maximum of twelve (12), in order to maintain a high quality of teaching and supervision.

Who is the course for?

Police / Prison Officers, Hospital / Health Care Staff, Care Homes, Custody nurses, Youth detention Centres, Community support officers, or any category of front line staff who might be required to use or may witness the use of physical intervention skills as part of their job undertaking.

Course content

This training is a short intense programme comprising of theories and practicalities, including, anatomy & physiology, health & fitness & medical complications, adverse medication, life preservation, restrictiveness and risk assessment / management. It highlights awareness knowledge, preventative and management strategies regarding the dangers of asphyxia and other restraint related risks.

Assessment

There is no formal assessment attached to this programme, however, participants will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the programme.

Certification
